Have you ever wondered what each
page rank number
1, 2, 3 stands for and what type of scale we are talking about? I do. I am curious about how my site:
selfsagacity.com is ranked on the internet world. And if I am insignificant, I still would like to know by how much and what it is all about.
My research began for
Google Page Rank, and one of the most common conclusion I gathered is that “no one knows for sure”, but for what it is worth, everyone agrees that the scale is from 1 to 10, and that a page rank zero, or
no page rank means you are not listed.
To get an idea of what the Google
page rank is for your website, or any website you are wondering about, download the
Google toolbar. Then in the middle of the toolbar is a tiny little rectangle that you can hover over to get the pagerank for that particular website.
Now that you know
your page rank, I bet you want to know what that 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 stands for, don’t you? Below is a chart I put together on each number.
Some of what I have read regarding how the contents on these websites are rated made sense and others don’t. I guess that is why most articles end up saying it is Google’s own
recipe and ingredients. If you follow some of the reasoning it doesn't match up with every website, so just do your best and hope that you are
providing content that people care to know about.
Ranks and what they mean in simple terms:
0] You're not even listed on Google PageRank list.
1] Very poor, but hey - at least you are listed.
2] Poor, but you have potential to move up and it can be done.
3] Average. You have
good information and most websites fall in this ball park.
4]
Above average. You're sprinting away from the majority.
5] Good. Page Rank 5 will usually pop up on the first page of some searches.
6] Great. You've worked hard and have great information.
7] You're hot and you're one of the top sites. Your peer is Zillow.
8] You’re
super hot, and your peers are CNBC, EBay, Bing, American Idol.
9] Everyone wants you, you are like: Youtube, Yahoo, Facebook, Apple, Amazon.
10] Finally, the 10s: Google, CNN, usa.gov, and social bookmarking website AddThis.

I never even knew there was a google page rank. I guess I don't really care where google ranks me.
ReplyDelete@hip chick -- Google is a search engine. If you are popular, have lots of links from other pages online that link to your website or blog, or have great content you've written on your website or blog (whatever you've done to make your website or blog a good one), you will be number one, or at least toward the top, of the Google search engine. This is quite an honor! And more importantly than being an honor, when others go to search a keyword in the google search engine, to find an article or blog to read, they will find your website and/or blog at the top of the Google search page for that keyword, with a link that leads to your website/blog. Now why do you say you "really don't care where google ranks me?" that is like cutting off your nose to spite your face! i guess you don't want readers, commenters, and don't want sales if you are monetizing. so,... if you don't care about how google ranks you, and don't want to put out any effort to get a higher google ranking, that's fine w me, i'll just work all the harder to get your readers and commenters! have a nice day! krissy knox :)
DeleteHi, actually there are many sites of relative importance or less importance but google PR may be relevant for sites like Amazon or Ebay but not always as their analytics does not necessarily matches consumer preferences.
DeleteAny way for Home furnishing people shall give their first choice as Ikea but for emerging brands like Agocha google pagerank may not be the relevant test and these companies have a niche segment for their products and services http://wwww.agocha.com
Interesting to find out what those numbers mean, great post!
ReplyDeleteRanking for some people is important to know, it's relative to what you want to achieve with your blog. For me it's fun to see how my favorite sites rank against each other. I believe Alexa ranking is not as stringent as Google ranking, since Google judges the contents of a website much more - it's one of their ingredients.
DeleteIt's good to know exactly what it all means. I do wonder though if it has any relevance to an Alexa rating as well?
ReplyDeleteAlexa is based purely on popularity. Please see my post on How to Increase Alexa Ranking - How is it different from Google?
DeleteGreat info, and I agree with you about the conclusion that "no one knows for sure". As soon as someone thinks they know, it changed again..
ReplyDeleteThe recent wiped out of fraud websites really did some good to the internet. It made the internet a cleaner place for the hardworking and honest to goodness people running blogs, and websites.
DeleteThanks for visiting my blog and leaving a nice comment. This was interesting information to learn. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI think this info is good for people who want to be technical. Businesses that are striving to place on top pages. Other than that, blogging for fun doesn't need good page rank. Smiles.
Deleteits good post but could explain in detail how things are calculated? how they suddenly update
ReplyDeletesure, but that would be a very long post- perhaps I will have part II in the future. If you like, email me directly and we can converse. Two things to take away from for sure are: 1) traffic - 2) content - the more your content affects people the more they are valued. Other items take a bit more pages to explain. Thanks for your great comment.
Deletethanks for the explanation will surely try this and tell you the result..
ReplyDeleteHi, because of the great demands, I've written a more detailed, key requirements in Part II. Google Pagerank Part II
DeleteI'm a bit late, but thanks for the tips. I was surprised to learn that I only have a ranking of 2 when I'm on page one for most relevant searches, and many times I'm no.1 on page 1. Wish I understood why my ranking is so low? Any ideas? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteJacquie, I was going to ask you which pages ranked you 1? Because Ranking 1 is not good with Google. Please see above the 1,2,3, etc. Google as stated has a formula to which they use to rate sites, so as commented previous, your "content" has tremendous impact on how your site will be ranked. I couldn't check you site, since your link didn't work for me today. So if you take a look at the sites with the higher ranks above for example- Government site, the information on this site affects everyone...therefore their rank is 10, and so down the line as it is rated by Google. I am not saying that you need this type of info on your site but just wanted to point out the mindset Google has, and analyze your contents to make your comparison for better understanding how they've ranked other sites and see if that helps. But remember, Google isn't the only ranking system out there - but they are very powerful.
Deletehi, i love your post. it is very interesting and I linked it in one of my post. PR is a mystery to me. I have two blogs and both are PR 3. one is almost a year old while the other one is only 50 days old when it got the PR 3. what do you think is the explanation to this?
ReplyDeleteHi Len, thanks for linking to my article. To answer your question honestly, the equation certainly doesn't work out for some sites. The -now three- secrets that most of us agreed on is the combo of: 1) traffic, 2) quality of content 3) number of quality links - for example linking your site to a PR rank of 3 which is my site will increase your chances of being rated higher quicker, of course you will need many more than just one quality link. Hope this helps, there are other ingredients which we have clues about - but they do not always match-up to the sites.
DeleteThanks for the expklanation, I added it to wikipedia in Dutch. I wondered why I got a PR5 on my site www.poi66.com but still I'm happy.
ReplyDeleteWonderful, a PR 5 is so awesome, congrats. And thank you Kees for adding my post to Wikipedia Dutch.
DeleteMY PR is 3 and I thought I was goin great.
ReplyDeleteBut u say most of the websites fall in this zone :(
Hi Tarun, PR 3 IS good, why I have a PR 3 ;-), but yes, if you want to break away from the mean [average]you need to be a 4 or 5. Good luck to all of us. :-)
Deletehi! thanks for this info its very helpful and made me think deeeeep! got a long ways to go. thanks again!
ReplyDeletePR high or low depending on what you're in blogging for. PR isn't the only thing Advertisers look for and it isn't the most important element for all the bloggers. I hope you have your goals sorted out, smiles .
DeleteExcellent article, now i know what those page rank stand for, or at least have an idea where a website is if a check o that website page rank. I'm not a SEO expert but this information really help me in understanding those page rank. What about Traffic Rank any information on this item? Thanks.
ReplyDeletePlease see my article on traffic rank with Alexa Ranking: http://www.selfsagacity.com/2010/11/how-to-increase-alexa-ranking-and-how.html
DeleteGlad you stop by. Thanks.
I wish I knew what to do to get my PR above 0 after 5 months of blogging original content. Thanks for the good description of the PR scale.
ReplyDelete@Art of RetroCollage -- I remember when I was a PR 0 for a long time. Then I ran across a Google page, quite by accident, that stated that if you are a 0, that your blog is not "indexed", which basically means it is not registered by Google. I don't know if registered is the right word -- it's not recognized by Google yet, bc it has not been catalogued into their list of blogs yet. This article by Google went on to say that, if you were reading this article, and you were still a 0, that they may have just not had time to get to your blog yet, to review that it was a legimate blog, and to add it to their list of blogs, so that they could index it (catalogue it), add it to the list of blogs they would continue to give PR ratings to, decide to move up and down in their Google search engine (esp if you "pinged" your blog), etc. why am i giving you all this info? bc google has a special form it asks you to fill out w your blogs name and URL, asking google to bring it to their attention so they can "index" it. it will take it from 0 to 1. that is if you write in it somewhat consistently. it must be more than once every 6 months, LOL. google doesn't like that, LOL, and will drop you back to 0. gee, i can't remember where i saw the google form, but if you are still a 0 by the time you read this, google something like -- how to index your blog with google -- something like that. if that doesn't work, keep trying! hope that helps! you'll be indexed w/in a week or so. :)
DeleteBlogger Broadcast.com had "not ranked" for a year and a half, and it was because the website was not indexed. It was actually blocked and deemed not appropriate due to reasons given by a generic email from Google.
DeleteA zero is however the lowest rank...but it is supposedly ranked. I agree that a zero could also mean that your site has not been crawled by the robots. And that you could use the webmaster tools from the Google support forum to get your site crawled immedidately.
Thank you for finally giving me the answer to a question even wikipedia and other "highly ranked" blogs could not without going into a confusing diatribe about probability formulas and what not... kmt
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a nice comment. I try to keep it simple and straight forward as I would want to know answers that I can understand myself.
DeletePR drives me crazy. When I was new in blogging I was very conscious of it. I can't even sleep or I dreamed about it. Now, I don't really care. It will always be a mystery to me.LOL
ReplyDeleteruthi, I don't care either if I wasn't writing, but blogger/ content writers do care, because the advertisers care.
Deletethanks for that! now i know.. :P
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, I hope it has helped you with your blog and what your goals are for it. Best, Amanda
DeleteReally useful...thnx for this post.. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and commenting.
DeleteHey.. my site just listed.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Starting a site and getting listed is very simple if you stick by the rules...not, Blogger Broadcast was punished for more than 1 1/2 years for a mistake Google Bots made. But it teached me a lot during the time of working out the reasons why, so for that, I am thankful I learned a great lesson, that can only come from experience.
Deletethanks for the info. I was wondering what page rank is and when i looked in other site i couldnt understand them. you simplified the explanation, that was great!
ReplyDeleteNow what do i do with it lets say if im 5? currently im only 1.
thanks
If you're a 5, and you are monetizing your blog, then PR 5 will give you a lot of leverage with advertisers.
DeleteSelfSagacity.com is currently PR 3 and I have a lot of inquiries. So try to get to atleast a 3 and you will see the interest come. Make sure your contact info is easy to get to. Perhaps post it in more than one place.
Hi, Can you help me, how can i check PR for my blog
ReplyDelete@Techsute -- go to this URL and put in your URL of your blog:
Deletehttp://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php
@Techsute Answered on your blog. Download the Google tool bar link from the article and your page rank will show up.
ReplyDelete@Self Sagacity -- Just respectfully wanted to say that I have always used this page to find my Google PR:
Deletehttp://www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php
You merely type your blog URL in. You can then type in another one of your blog URLs in afterwards, if you like, to find the ranking of each of your blogs. I prefer this method, esp since I don't always prefer to have a lot of gadgets on my blog(s). Another reason a blogger may not want the Google PR gadget on their blog is that if it reflects a score that is not particularly high (say a score of 3 or below), then it could reflect poorly on the blog and the blogger. I was told that if one really, really wanted to put this gadget on their blog, to only do it if their blog if they had a PR rating of say 5 or more, not for the purpose of just checking their PR rating. I thought that made sense to me. Plus i don't like a lot of gadgets on my blog! too cluttered, and makes the blog download too slowly! anyway, it's all a personal choice, and i'm leaving the link above, so everyone can make their personal choice! thanks lots, @Self Sagacity :)
Thanks for your comments Krissy and appreciate the additional input as well. I do know about the PR checker site. I have it on my other blog. The Google bar is quick for scanning blogs and websites you might like to do business with rahter than having to enter their links in PR checker. Both tools are great resources, and again, glad you mentioned it.
DeleteI now have a PR2 after a year of playing about what have i learned it takes time and you cant rush getting a high page rank now to go for a 3 cant be impossible.
ReplyDeleteYes, it does take time to build the Page rank. Yet, someone always find ways to make things easy to make money. I am sure you can buy back-links to boost your page-rank but it is not the same.
DeleteI thought the post will be about the real meaning of the numbers at the eyes of Google. Nice work
ReplyDeleteYou can get the link to Google Page Rank PartII from the above article - first paragraph or this link here: Google Pagerank Part II

Deleteperfect article vecoz this the universal truth .
ReplyDeletebelow pr 4 is usless. i can bet it.if u really want to earn money.
I've been able to earn some money with a PR3. If you're really speaking of an income, I would bet you will need a few PR5 websites.
DeleteVery informative article thank you for sharing! This is going to help on my page rank 3 website!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love hearing positive encouragement, I also wish you well of obtaining the PR that you want. Best Amanda
DeleteThanks for your help. I will try to increase my page rank.

DeleteThanks for information about each page rank interpretation
ReplyDeleteThe page ranks interpretation is just a comparison of the scale and level we are dealing with everyday. Glad it made sense to you.
DeleteNice article. I dont agree with your opinion on page rank 2. Click me for more blogging tips to increase pagerank without having too much backlinks.
ReplyDeleteI sure will. I always like to visit blogs that have visited SelfSagacity. I will hop over now. I agree with you about the ranking not being spot on all the time. Some lower rank blogs have even better content than those of higher rank. Read more about the ranking system here: Google Pagerank Part II

Thanks! I will check them out.
DeleteOur website was hacked and caused many of our pages to become corrupted. After restoring the website from the backup there were many broken links in our forum, this massively decreased our page rank from average right down to 0. Now we've fixed the problem and our rank increased a little, and the crawl errors are decreasing every day. Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about such nuisance with your website. I hope you will soon recover to where you were or even better. Here is more on page ranks for you to recover faster: Google Pagerank Part II. A more detailed article on the key requirements to improving your page rank. Best regards, Amanda
DeleteUseful information, thanks for sharing it. It's really important to get a 'great' pagerank for any website to survive and get popular over web.
ReplyDeleteTrue. I think in the long run, if the owners care then the website will eventually do very well, otherwise, the website will sink. If you need more info about page rank please read Google Pagerank Part II. Best, Amanda
DeleteHello Amanda,
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post. I guess most of us go through the same thing. When we first started, we all watch our PR like stock-market..
I started my website beginning this year, and I wish my PR would rise like AAPL :)
Thanks for sharing!
Right, your analogy is pretty close. In the beginning we all are so passionate, and so dedicated to pump our PR, until one day...when we realized all the things we read and do, are not yielding any returns, that is when the passion wears off.
DeleteI have to agree with you, if our PR rise faster like AAPL stock, we all could be rich.
that was very good information
ReplyDeletemy page rank is poor you can check it at http://mainstcamping.com/
Glad I could help. I think the second part is more detailed article on the key requirements to improving your page rank. Google Pagerank Part II. A Try it and let me know.
DeleteA "Zero" could mean that your robots meta is blocking Google.
ReplyDeleteWe were at PR5 on the home page and while editing our home page last year, we accidently made the tag "noindex" for Google instead of other bots and dropped to PR2. So far, it has climb to PR3 and we hope it reaches back to PR5.
Thank goodness the page was not a template as other pages across the site would have been affected as well.
Hi Steve, thanks for your comment. I had a "No Rank" on Blogger Broadcast.com and and it was because the website was not indexed. A zero is however the lowest rank...but it is ranked. Although I agree that a zero could mean that your site has not been crawled by the Googlebots.
Deletemy passion is getting on Google page one with good quality white hat search engine optimization services i am a freelance seo expert at getting your website on page one of Google results organic listings my site http://www.getongooglepageone.net for information on search engine marketing for Google results.

DeleteThanks for sharing these info. I still have a lot of work to do
ReplyDeleteI have a big problem with "Google Pagerank" and listings.. I've seen many sites with N/A and even 0 with tons of content rank on the first page of Google above sites with a Pagerank of 3 or 4. I've also seen sites with a 2 rank above 5 and 6s. Content will always remain king and with Google having these updates on average every 3 months the rank seems almost irrelevant. Stick to quality content and maybe your ranking will improve over time but it certainly is not a deciding factor when it comes to the quality of your page.
ReplyDeleteYes. I agree with your comment. The ranking seems to not be consistent with some sites. It is hard to say that the ranking goes strict by the rules of the "combined elements." Content is important. It intertwines with how people will view your site, but besides the content, the lining factor that will determined page rank is the link counts from the Google bots.
DeleteCan someone help me understand why I had my site ycreditrepair up for like 10 years but only ranks a 2?
ReplyDeleteI just went to your site to browse and it looks like the info is good as far as what you're advertising. However, 1) you have some links-out to other websites - yet, I cant' tell whether those websites link back to you, that for one is call link reciprocating. 2) Do you update your content often, because if the homepage posts haven't changed, it's hard to say that your site is continuously providing new info. 3) Do you have anyone writing about your site, linking to your site, this is the most important since that means, your site have info that others wanted to share with their readers. Anyhow, these are not all that could be the reasons, but it's a start for you to look into. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteNow my page rank 2. When it will be move in to 3? http://www.itarticle.net
ReplyDeleteI hope for you the next google page rank update. If not hopefully the one after next. Smiles.
DeleteA Nice useful Information , I hope i can increase my rank in upcoming events .
ReplyDeleteThank You .

I do not understand how important pagerank is. I have two websites: http://www.thuexedanang.tk and http://www.xemaythue.tk. The first one has PR = 0 while the second one has PR = 1. However, when I search for a keyword "thue xe may da nang", the first one appears while the second one never appears. So why do we need to get high page rank?
ReplyDeleteHigh page rank is a way for websites to get recognized in the business world. If you are monetizing your website, selling links, ads, and posting articles, you would want a high page rank because advertisers for different reasons will choose to advertise with your website.
DeleteYour search came up first because Google favors the website name to be what you're selling. It's very nice to have met you, I will check out your site. I am thinking about going to VN this coming year. Best, Amanda
My site now hav rank in page 1 google with my main keyword
ReplyDeleteI only used this seopack: http://topseopack.weebly.com
Sorry my bad english. :)
It's so great service. I had bought a package 2 day ago, and now I have 13000 unique backlinks. It's so amazing! Thanks!
DeleteThose website back-link providers are good for someone who is in a hurry to climb the ranks. I like to know that I am reaching the PR because of what I do genuinely to my site and not what I have to purchase. Except, I am beginning to think that many things can be bought and so it has diluted the really great websites from being great. So in the end, does the true PageRank matter anymore?
Deletethank you informasion
ReplyDeleteFor a newbie in SEO it seems like it is hard to get a pagerank 1 in their website since they dont know how to make it. But because of this post however they will begin to improve their pageranks. Thanks for this very informative post. <a href="http://www.infotechywiz.com>Increase PC Performance</a>
ReplyDeleteI managed to get a few of my pages in one of my blogs on to page 1 ranking, this appears to bring me in a bit more traffic than other keywords. I am to read up on more and more info and keep expanding my presence on the Search Engines. If anyone might be interested I am staring to document my work on a blog here:
ReplyDeletehttp://powerbuildermarketing.blogspot.com
Very interesting and useful post. Thanks for sharing. I really understood what a page rank means after reading your post.
ReplyDeletehttp://healthyhomosapien.blogspot.com
Interesting stuff... and thanks to you I have just found I have a PR of 3 : Yey !
ReplyDeleteI've had a site up for years, and it still has a page rank of 0 ( http://debtreliefguru.com ). At one time, it was on page 1 via a google search on a couple keywords to boot, and still a 0. Google is nonsense. It's like the government of the internet. I gave up on websites, it was impossible to play the game to keep google happy.
ReplyDeleteGoogle’s latest algorithm (codename Penguin) update has caused a lot of sites to fall in the search rankings (from Page1 to ???). Their mission is to cut down on the spam, and eliminate the ranking benefits from cheap backlinks. In other words they’re cracking down on Black-hat SEO tricks. Ever spent $5 for 10,000 backlinks? Now those same links are probably pointless & as valuable as a $9 bill.
DeleteContent is the blood that flows through SEO. Articles educating readers about your industry or service generate the best backlinks if they’re submitted to high PR (PageRank) article directories & blog sites. Google pays more attention to the reputation of the site you’re linking to. They don’t care about how many links you have!

Nice info. I just checked my blog www.singhvikash.in PR rank and it is PR-1. I am just starting. Thanks for this info.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the info. Currently PR 2. I just learned about Google PR. I hope my website can move up to 4/5 in coming months.
ReplyDeleteVery good information.. Could you please tell that the minimum time that will take to change from one pagerank to another..?????
ReplyDeleteI did some SEO on my blog to reach PR2 last year, but I didn't do anything after that but now I am PR3. What I learned is the content still the king! :)
ReplyDeleteI want to have PR 2 atleast in my next update and I have been working hard on it.
ReplyDeleteI installed the live pagerank plugin a little while ago and I've been keeping an eye on it... It seems to pull up the same kind of info as the live pagerank checkers and page rank predictors. Like you said basically, Expertu, doesn't do a whole lot of good, but I guess it's mildly useful... I'm going to try the one you speak of though, thanks!
ReplyDeleteRegards
Jessica
My page just recently got pageranked not too long ago. I've always wonder what these numbers mean. Thank you for your informative information! I will try my best to move up my pageranks!
ReplyDeleteHi there Yuri, you've got a great attitude. It's not easy, but like they say, if there is a will, there is a way. Best of luck to you, and please stop by and post your website so that we can all celebrate with you!
DeleteWant to know page rank for
ReplyDeletewww.totaldotnet.com and www.mixandcook.com
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, your pageranks are found to be: www.totaldotnet.com= PR2 and www.mixandcook.com= PR0
DeleteHope you will soon reach the pagerank you want. Best, Amanda
Nice information. Thanks for sharing it with us!
ReplyDeleteI wish I have more time to write more and share more. I think it is very rewarding to help people understand. I should have been a teacher? Amanda
DeleteGreat article, thanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a chance to read my Google Pagerank Part II. A more detailed article on the key requirements to improving your page rank. Thanks for your comment. Take care. Amanda
DeleteYou should also take a look at alexa ranking. They are in business since... forever and even google takes they're global rankings into account. For example: although selfsagacity.com has a PR of 3 which is pretty low it also has a a alexa ranking of 189942 which is very good. Basically 189942 means that of all the millions and millions of sites in the world your site is among the best 200000. For niche sites and blogs, good alexa rankings are more important that PR because they can't compete with online shops (which generate hundreds of pages), or with huge informational sites like wikipedia which has tens of thousand of pages or with google which is inquired by billions daily.
ReplyDeleteHi Cristian, thank you for your insight. I wanted to let you know that I appreciate your comment and that I do know about Alexa ranking, hence you can read about my thoughts on Alexa ranking here: http://www.selfsagacity.com/2010/11/how-to-increase-alexa-ranking-and-how.html
DeleteYour analysis makes a lot of sense in terms of the pages the huge websites contain. It is hard to compete with PR ranking also if your site is not dedicated to one subject. I not only use my site for personal enjoyment, but I do monetized it too. It is more challenging and fun for me to keep up with the goals than it is to just do it for journal purposes. I stopped by your site for a visit, but did not see anywhere to leave a comment. I am looking for a beach wheelie, by any chance you guys sell or know where I can get one? Thanks for your visit. Best, Amanda
I am sorry guys, I couldn't keep up with many of your comments. I am going through them when I can. My apologies that it couldn't have been right away like I wanted to. Your comments are important to this website and important to me. In the meantime, I hope you will stop by and read: Google Pagerank Part II because there are much more info for you about the Google ranking system. Best of luck to all of you, I too have not move in the rank for three years, so go figure!
ReplyDeleteGood post! Incredible article!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am glad you have enjoyed it. It is nice to be able to explain in terms that everyone can relate to.
DeleteGood info, I appreciate the blunt interpretation of the PR structure. I haven't been able to raise the PR of my site http://chroniclex.com for over 6 months. It is stuck at a 1. If anyone has any feedback or recommendations feel free to drop me a line.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Chris
Thanks Chris. It takes a lot of work to build good relationships, but it can be done. Don't be despair, keep up with the good work and the rank should follow.
DeleteExcellent Article. Thank you very much. My website rank is 0 now. I will improve it soon. http://telugump3.co.in/....
ReplyDeleteThat is the fun of PR in a way. If you want to use it as a motivator and a way for you to stay focus on your blog, website, it is an excellent object.
DeleteMET website pagerank 1 - .. but according to the probability would be in 4..the truth is that I do not see much importance to PageRank
ReplyDeleteMost of the websites do not have any reason to care. Although, for some publishers, the PR determines how much the value is for a link or a post.
DeleteIt was a great run, and I hope the readers who discovered us found our content useful.

DeleteI am very happy to have written a post that has helped so many understand better the meaning. I have written two other posts regarding Page Rank:
ReplyDeleteGoogle Page Rank Part III - What is No Page Rank, Not Searchable Blog?
Google Page Rank Part IV- Predict Your Page Rank - Not Google Page Rank
I have just been blogging for a year and never thought that some of my posts were kind of promotional. So if I ever mentioned a brand, a book, an event or a place, it was because I was there. I was kind of surprised when I even had PR ranking. But taking your suggestion made me smile even thinking as long as I continue writing what I love most, then I am on the right track.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Sarah. Even though there are a lot of people who don't know about Page Rank and are curious, it certainly does not mean that I spent my life chasing Google PR either. Like you, I am most comfortable with who I am and what I do, and that is the joy of having your own website, blog.

ReplyDeleteGreat info thanks for sharing, it really clears things up for me.
ReplyDeleteAlexa works on your clicking, like how much the site gets daily clicking it directly effects the alexa ranking of the site, and the google page rank is necessary as it show where your site sands, and how popular and how many visitors visit your site, for this you should increase your back linking also, and your alexa rank etc.
ReplyDeleteI learn so much from your article.
ReplyDeletewww.pumptodump.com
Thank for the information it is good todo know.
ReplyDeletethank you for information, nice
ReplyDeleteThanks, I have learn some new about pagerank.
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda! Thanks for this article - I've been doing a ton of research on SEO, PR, etc etc etc as I've started a new blog.
ReplyDeleteI have a couple questions:
1. How long does it take a blog (not self hosted) to be ranked? I still have a PR of 0, but I'm pretty sure I'm indexed by Google (unless I'm totally missing something... I'm not the most technology adept person alive). I write all original content, and I update at least a couple times a week. Occasionally, I've been known to reblog a post that I find particularly inspiring. I've really been working at this blog for about a month and a half.
2. Re the above question, my blog is dedicated to self empowerment, girl power, law of attraction type of stuff AND to my web series, Miracle Mile Girls. The web series is a comedy about girls in their 20's getting into all sorts of trouble while pursuing their dreams in the entertainment industry. The girls make a lot of mistakes that they eventually learn from. To me, the self empowerment aspect and the situational comedy in the actual web series complement each other and are part of my general message. HOWEVER, for keyword search results and link building, it seems that they would be two different things, which I am afraid distills the strength of any link building or seo/keyword campaign. But then I noticed that you write about a wide assortment of topics, so my question is how do you get traffic and page rank for a blog that is not confined to just one topic?
3. Does it makes a difference if my blog isn't self-hosted on wordpress? My blog's address is http://miraclemilegirls.wordpress.com instead of http://miraclemilegirls.com. Does this make a different in SEO and PR?
THANKS SO MUCH!!
oh like that , i understand now , Thanks :)
ReplyDeletehttp://www.searchenginegenie.com/pagerank-10-sites.htm
ReplyDeleteThe above list is the most recent standings of the Perfect 10 (as defined by Google)
lol
Google downgraded THEMSELVES to PR 9 from a 10
hello,i am working hard on backlinks,i hope to get a page wrank 3 soon, once indexed i hope i get page wrank 2 for first 3 month, this will do me
ReplyDeleteEven if u are PR 0 (which is supposed to be not linked ) you, me and millions others clearly are linked . I am on page 1 on Google on certain local keywords so I wouldnt worry too much on our climb up the PR ladder .
ReplyDeleteAs above , dont get caught up too much on PR rankings . The list at top of this page stats PR 5 is "5 Good. Page Rank 5 will usually pop up on the first page of some searches."
ReplyDeleteI am on some blogs in my industry that are deemed to be Industry leaders in the filed and are only PR 4-5 and have been around years . Good PR is hard to attain and takes years and natural organic linking
Hi
ReplyDeleteI found your post very good. I did exactly like you said. Thank you very much for the help.

Google has not updated PR for 6 months now, does this means that PR algorithm is going to be eliminated as almost every website is relying on it?
ReplyDeleteAny tips on getting www.TheBlogAge.com to pick up a PR?
ReplyDeleteIt's new and currently at 0 but I feel like I post good info.
