The Flowering Amaryllis

Amaryllis is one of the most showy plants. It can bloom indoors or outdoors, making it an excellent choice for decorations. It usually blooms from late December to the end of June. The larger the bulb the more flowers it produces.
Last year I bought three large Amaryllis bulbs in glass vases. I gave two away and kept one for myself. It was so generous and giving in flowers it made us all think we had green thumbs.

I recalled the day I bought the Amaryllis. We were Christmas shopping and I couldn't make up my mind whether to buy the Amaryllis or not until SO drove away. That was when I felt a little twitched in my heart about leaving the Amaryllis forever. I asked SO to stop the car, ran in, and purchase three instead of one!

Thanks for stopping by today.

  11. Multiply that by five: I was given 15 Hippeastrum bulbs last Xmas. Planted them in two long windowbox type containers. Overwhelming yet again this year. They are Diva's, aren't they?
