You heard the old saying, “When God created _____, He broke the mold”, right? Well, I’m certain that’s exactly what He did when I was born. He laughed and I’m sure it was the very out loud kind of laugh (Where do you think LOL came from anyhow?) as He stepped back proclaiming, “Those people cannot handle more than one like her.” Then He smashed the mold.
For all purposes, I consider myself “the girl next door”. You know your best bud. Someone you can confide in…giggle with or at…have a food fat with…or watch a sappy romantic flick with. Also, I’m like many of you - a mother and wife. What really drives me is my fondness for writing. Through my thoughts, I can create stories (and if you didn’t know by now, I’m a published children’s author) or write a dear pen friend a mini novel depicting the going-ons in my world, or to spew forth my random mental entanglements on my blog.

Amanda, it has taken many years of bad diet habits for me to wake up so I would never point fingers, but I do believe the BAD they say about coke, pepsi, and Dr Pepper. Phosphoric acid is very harmful as is sugar. Get your caffeine from coffee and that should be in moderation. I have been compiling tons of doctor's quotes about phosphoric acid. I haven't written about it yet because there is so much information to sort through! Then my friend was just diagnosed with holes in her intestines caused by coke, a previous addiction she had.
ReplyDeleteMy husband drinks diet coke once in a great while. I cannot dissuade him. I am particularly concerned as he is diabetic and getting older, 9 years older than I. I have read so much about the damage it causes to teeth and bones. He has lost most his teeth already, but fractures in the elderly can be particularly harmful.
Good luck Amanda. Take care and God bless!
I do have a craving for Coke on occasions, but don't drink it often.
ReplyDeleteI believed there are many bad things in all the soda..
Hello! *smile*
ReplyDeleteI personally don't try to give ma kidz soda @ ALL, but IF I do then I give the diet....not that, thats ANY better but I do what I can. Mainly they do watered down Juice, water, or milk.
I haven't looked too into it but I KNOW it can't be good for ya. I try to drink the same as ma kidz but if now then a diet coke or pepsi will do. Not too often tho because too much of it will break me out. *smile* Happy Thursday!
Yes, I use to drink a lot of soda, but I am trying hard to stop...I think that's probably why I am overweight to an extent. I dont' know what they say about Coke, but I am sure I don't want to know.
ReplyDeleteFor me, this is day 2 of no soda - but at the least I have my sweet iced tea!
My kids are grown and oddly enough, I'm the coke (zero) drinker.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

Hi Amanda!
ReplyDeleteI don't drink Coke. I probably would if I am in the middle of nowhere and I am thirsty and I can not trust any drinking water around.
I think softdrinks are mostly sugar. I prefer water or fresh juice.
Btw, some people told me that the link on my picture last week as your guest is erroneous. I checked it and I think you were not able to link it right. But I told them its OK since you included my URLs in the post anyway. Thanks Amanda!
Well, I must admit, that we drink soda -- my DH and I. I don't know if what they say about it being so bad is true or not, but I guess I just don't worry that much about it since I have so many other things to worry about. When I almost died last year it had nothing to do with soda so I figure there are a lot of other things that could do me in as much as soda :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm late, but trying to catch up. Life takes away from blogging.
ReplyDelete1. No. I don't drink coke or soda and I don't give it to my children.
I wish my husband did not drink it.
2. Yes I believe that it harms the body. I honestly wish my husband would research it.
Off to visit the others.
Have a wonderful week!
I drink water more than anything else but when I want a soda I have Sprite Zero. My hubby used to drink a lot of regular Pepsi until I got him to read the label. When he saw that there are 35 grams of sugar per can he gave them up for the diet ones.
ReplyDeleteI know some folks who think drinking juice, or giving juice to their kids, is healthier. But most of the juice drinks on the grocery shelves are filled with sugar.
PS, sorry I missed TTQ this week but I will be here for the next one.
