Mango is very low in saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium. It is also an excellent source of dietary fiber and vitamin B6, and a very good source of vitamin A and vitamin C. I'm glad I read this because I love mangoes. I've been having some illnesses lately and still trying to figure out if it's due to iron deficiency. (Am waiting for blood results).

ReplyDeleteOur mango tree has fruits now; they'll ripen in the next two months. A lot of birds visit us during the mango season. Oh, they are clever; they eat the fruit and leave the seed hanging on the tree! :)
ReplyDeleteWe (at India) make several dishes from both unripe and ripe mangoes. I plucked two mangoes (unripe) and made a spicy-tangy curry. Tastes absolutely heavenly when mixed with hot rice and garnished with freshly grated coconut.
