These white Irises were found at a park nearby on a very rare walk with one of my sisters. They are beautiful and according to the Wikipedia [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iris_%28plant%29] "The genus is widely distributed throughout the north temperate zone. Their habitats are considerably varied, ranging from cold and montane regions to the grassy slopes, meadowlands and riverbanks of Europe, the Middle East and northern Africa, Asia and across North America." Up to 300 species – many of them natural hybrids – have been placed in the genus Iris.
As you know I have a large family, but we don't live close by to see each other often. It was a treat to have visited with one of my sisters. Walking along the lake was refreshing and very entertaining. There were many bikers, walkers, runners, and picnic-ers. They were all busy going about their business. Occasionally you will see a biker stop for a drink of water and or to gazed out into the lake. And soon, other riders would join in and that is when you get an eye feast of all the different colors of bikes, outfits, and helmets. They would park their bikes along the yakima bike rack. It is quite a scene, like a huge colorful quilt flowing in the middle of the park.
Thanks for stopping by today.
