Jealousy

Guest Post from Unbreakable Mind
Another Friend Engaged? Yet another one of my friends is now engaged.

It’s times like these where I’m most vulnerable, when I feel slightly defective. I am so oddly jealous. Everyone is riding off into the sunset with their prince charming. People tell me not to look for love so I haven’t, but I feel like I’m being left in the dust, that their horse-drawn carriages leave behind. My options are to look for love and have a slim chance of finding it or to just sit around and ‘wait’, expecting love to find you eventually - the odds of that being even slimmer. Blair Waldorf said, "Destiny is for losers. It's a poor excuse for people to wait around for things to happen to them" and I'm starting to believe that it's true. However, I'm constantly reminded, also, that "Good things come to those who wait." Well, what is it?

Cheers to the newly engaged couple at only twenty, to whom I am forever jealous. Society makes jealousy seem like such a negative thing. Truly, I am forever envious. It has a much more positive connotation. You can be jealous of someone but hope the best for them as well. It doesn’t always have to be a mean, vicious feeling. You should be cautious of a jealous person and feel flattered of an envious person. To find love at such a young age is spectacular - even if it's only a chance at love. I’m glad someone found the trail to their happy ending so soon.

I'm still waiting for someone to want to take a chance on me.

  1. You will find yours and it will be when you least expect it. I am a single mom of 5 kids and I've found love. Keep your chin up buttercup! :-)

    1. I think you have to get in touch with my niece and talk to her about how you've found love too.

  5. When more than 50% of first marriages end in divorce ... I would not be too envious! There will certainly be someone in your future ...just take your time. I don't think most women even become who they are going to be until at least 30yrs old. Just my rambling. L

  7. I'm at times jealous of someone, but it's not in a bad way. It's just that it inspires me.

And love...oh love. What is falling in love but a fleeting man made feeling. Love is a constant thing that doesn't sway with feelings.

But alas, I desire that deadly feeling of falling into it.

Good luck to the couple, maybe they grow and learn in love.

  8. I've ridden off into the sunset twice now ... and come back to harsh reality both times. It's not all it's cracked up to be. Take your time and if you take an aisle walk ... make sure you get it right!

  9. I wasn't even looking when my Prince Charming rode into my life. You'll know it when the right one comes along. In the mean time just enjoy life and be happy for your friends, many of which will probably be divorced in a few years because they were in too much of a hurry to tie the knot.

  10. OHHH.. I do so know this feeling.
I was married at 26 and divorced by 33 and here I am at 52 and never remarried. So I too wonder at why and what... but you know I truly believe all things happen for a reason and when the right person comes along you WILL know it! In the meantime try (like the way I say try?) to be happy and the most that you can be!
