The other day, my blogger friend mentioned Father’s Day. I am not good about staying ahead of holidays, but at last I checked and found out it is on June 17th - a couple of weeks away. That made me happy as can be. Thanks to her, I’ve been brewing ideas to stay on top of the celebration for SO.
Let’s face it, men are from Mars. They are cave men. They like to retreat to their own world (man caves) and hide away from reality. They tune in to shows for entertainment and get lost in them. They lose their hearing when they are deeply engaged in their shows.
One of our first dates SO took me to see a show in the city called: “Cave Man.” I guess he wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting into. SO likes to retreat to his man cave for moments during the day, sneak viewing a football game, or golf game on TV. I hate to admit it, but next to watching sports on TV, he would be happiest playing them.
So instead of running from my fears, I am going to face it head-on. I am going to acknowledge the man’s weaknesses and embrace it. I am going to make available to him all the shows he enjoys by ordering him the package deal from http://www.giveadish.com/. This will certainly be a treat since we do not have any fancy shows beyond the regular, 2, 4, 9 channels.
You didn't think all that was “really” from me did you? I rarely do anything without a "real purpose."
Did I also mention that the Direct TV service also have the high speed internet bundle? Well, my head turned twice to see that they are currently offering both as a bundle for just $39.95! Do you know that I am paying twice as much for basic TV and internet now? Just think how much money I would be saving! I had been searching and looking for internet options and this came around just in time. Hmm…what will I do with all the savings?
Here are a couple of ideas for starting your own man cave.
Pool Hall Plus: Opposite the pool table is the lounge area, featuring a new couch, and 50-inch TV.
