10 Tips to Rejuvenate Your Creativity - Thursday Two Questions Meme #126

This week I wanted to write about creativity, but I am also trying to get over a yucky virus that had me coughing like I am a long time smoker, and... well, I won't go into more details, but with it also came the lack of creative communication. Luckily, I came across the subject of creative agency. Creative agency is a marketing agency that takes communication beyond the talk. They believe in the art of being able to empower potential customers to behave, and react to their marketing pitch. Creative communication and the art of  say and do.

The subject prompted me to a thought that I have pondered a lot about. It is the thought of how to communicate your brand, or your ideas effectively. You know, come to think of it, I haven't really been able to drive SelfSagacity.com to the point of what I thought I wanted it to be. If I did, I don't know what it is. I guess, most of my life and style have been much on the curiosity path and interested about everything. I am just thinking that many of us could probably use some professional critique of our blogs, and our paths. I wonder what creative agency would say about SelfSagacity.com?

This week I am rounding up some tips in How To Rejuvenate Your Creativity. I go through this list and more when I need a little creative rejuvenation.

Top 10 Tips to Rejuvenate Your Creativity.

  • 1. Do something different. Instead of going home after you drop off the kids at school, go shopping, or go to the park.
  • 2. Write down ideas, even if they are singular. Eventually you will have accumulated enough to categorize them.
  • 3. Take a new route. The new surroundings will help you see things differently and spark some ideas.
  • 4. Stop working on it, if it is not working. Walk away for a period of time and come back when you are ready to work on it again.
  • 5. Isolate yourself. Sometimes shutting everything and everyone out, will give you a better perspective on priorities.
  • 6. Do what your friends want to do. Allowing yourself the flexibility to change will increase your creativity to adapt.
  • 7. Grow a plant. Plant something that grows and blooms fast. The instant gratification will give you incentive to be creative. Everything starts with a seed.
  • 8. Get people's comments, suggestions on your work. We might not like the feedback, but sometimes, creativity and ideas can develop from what people say.
  • 9. Watch something mindless. Many times we need a little help drifting off to wonderland. Wonderland is where all the possibilities lie, so a trip there might do some good.
  • 10. Paint/ color / draw a picture together with your child. Decide on a theme, and paint / color/ draw a picture with your child. See how her mind works, and go with the flow.

    1. Thanks! Believe it or not, I do a lot of these without even knowing that I do. Today when I sat down to think about the things that I do, I thought they were actually good enough to share. I am glad you like them. Whew!

  2. Amanda, I am not sure I need a creative rejuvenation because I always have thoughts overflowing and just no time to harvest them; if I can say it like that. I would love to have my blogs reviewed and a helping hand on them, but am afraid I would be given suggestions to do something I would have no idea of how to do. I tried the page break thing and even got some help but it just will not work on any of my blogs. I tried several tutorials so went back and removed many of them.

    1. Oh dear Judy! I know what you mean about overflowing ideas and not enough time to do them! Like you, I would like an assessment, but afraid that I might not like the direction that they will have for me. I think it will scare me to death. haha.

  3. I'm always overflowing with ideas just no time to write and process them all like Judy. I do have a blogging schedule just that it's currently super packed at the moment.

  4. Like Judy I have lots of ideas and all sorts of things I would like to do with my blog but finding time to do them is another story. I always have so many things going on in my life but I wouldn't have it any other way.

    1. Glad you can join us this week Judy, thanks for your support as always. I have no idea how you manage to do what you do, but I am glad you are doing them and including us in your schedule. I think the question should have been, how can we find more time. Lol.

  5. I really like the idea of drawing something with your child...that does get the creative juices going. I am in need of artistic rejuvenation--but as far as the website goes, I'm also short on cash. And any assessment would mean spending more time on my site when I need to be spending more time on my art in stead (and with my kids, and on my home, and doing taxes).

    1. I think it is very important to play with children often. They are so creative and they can help us tremendously in staying lighthearted and taking one thing at a time. I see what you mean about the creativity...yet, it's cruel that if you have time create and missed out on blog hopping, there will be no one to appreciate your masterpiece...catch 22, always working...

  6. I love the list.
Now I really want to grow a plant. Esp for my son because he is sad the one he gave me died.

I'm sick and busy, but I'm not sure I'm tapped into being creative. So #1 would be yes.

    2. I would love a professional design first :D

    Happy Thursday Amanda!

    1. Thank you! I think the list is honest and very basic, but sometimes the basics are what we forget.
Awww. My sons used to bring plants home for me too. I guess like you, I wanted to make sure they bloom for them, so I became a pretty good gardener, experimenting on propagation. You too Colette.

  9. I do most of them especially #4 and #5, I may not practice them more often now since I do not think I do creative writing or do creative work a lot these days, however, when I need to, I do, I love silence by the way, it is when everywhere and everything is silent that I could empty my mind and be able to listen to my emotions clearly.

    1. Believe it or not, for people with kids, #5 isn't easy to get often. It is almost a challenge. It simply is a chore to achieve some peace.

  11. I like the list too, and something mindless is a good one. I next to never watch TV, but the other day I was channel surfing in the morning for some reason and came across Big Valley. Goodness, lol. I hadn't seen it since I was a kid and even though it was a totally mindless activity, it did rejuvenate me to just relax for a bit and do nothing. :)

    1. I rely on the mindless watching a lot, just to relax, calm down from whatever it is that has been on my mind. It works for me, glad to know someone else thinks so too!

    1. I have to admit, I like the flexible one the best too. I think it is quite a challenge to be able to freed yourself from the typical routines and just make sure you enjoy other ideas or other people's plan.
