I can remember buying my first home. There were so many decisions to be made. Even when we opted with standard features. The flooring decisions took the most time. After all, flooring covers all the area of your home, and it sets the tone for your decor.
Choosing the right carpet padding is very important, almost as important as the carpet itself. A
carpet pad can greatly lengthen the lifespan of your carpet, so you can gain years of enjoyment from your flooring choice. A
carpet pad is also essential if you have a home with pets and children, as the pad will provide extra comfort and increase the durability of the carpet. There’s no reason you wouldn’t want your carpet to last a lifetime, so why would you skimp on a carpet pad?
When you choose a
carpet pad, it’s important to choose padding that can support your carpet properly and is capable of standing up to your specific lifestyle. Extra padding is recommended in areas that receive heavy traffic, and extra dense carpet padding is recommended under stairs. If your carpet is going to be installed in a room that receives a lot of moisture, it’s important to choose padding that can breathe, so moisture is able to evaporate up through the pad and the carpet itself.
There are many padding options available when deciding on the perfect one. Specialty pads like odor eating or moisture barrier pads also exist, but are often not required. If you’re currently or plan on carrying out a flooring installation project requiring carpet, it’s important to ask your
flooring provider about the padding options that exist.

Deletewow, that is one very very spacious bedroom, and love the interiors
ReplyDeleteIt is a spacious room, and especially nice with that type of carpet.
DeleteSo true. Having the best carpet pad is super important. There is nothing worse then walking on hard carpet.
ReplyDeleteCarpeting is favored in our house! The one thing we really need to upgrade is the flooring...
DeleteWe have mostly hardwood in our hues. I hate daily sweeping and mopping it. I would love to put down carpet. Choosing the right padding would definitely need to have thought put into it!
ReplyDeleteI like different types of floor for our house. For the bedrooms, I like carpet.
DeleteThese are good tips, and you're so right about carpet setting the tone. For some reason, I thought dark mocha would be a great choice when we moved in, it' not. But carpet is too expensive to just replace on a whim, so until it wears out, here it shall remain. (c)
ReplyDeleteGood info, I'm looking into getting new carpets for my living room!
ReplyDeleteThis is very good information.
ReplyDeleteI wish we had hardwood floors. Especially with the kittens.
I'd keep the carpet for our bedrooms though.
I agree - carpet padding is SO important! I am currently remodeling my house. There are so many things to think about.

ReplyDeleteOddly enough, carpet pad serves many purposes and makes a big difference in the acoustics of a room and the life of your carpet. When we had our home theater installed, the installers recommended that we have new carpet pad laid underneath our current carpet as we would get much better sound quality. We did it and he was right! The room is much more quiet when it needs to be and the sound is amazing when we want it loud.
ReplyDeleteI thought I would never have to deal with carpet or padding again as we have hardwood floors throughout. But now we are carpeting the lower level and these tips about carpet pad are going to come in useful. Thanks!
