These photos were taken a couple of weeks ago on our New Brighton Beach camping trip. It was great to get out of town and spent time with my family. A break from the city to enjoy nature and a slower pace. It was as good as going through a massage therapy program online. Sure, it's a bit of work, but seeing the kids played together in nature was an eye feast. We had a camping spot right on the bluff and at night the waves sounded like thunder. Through the night I kept thinking we were going to be hit by a tsunami, or my tent will be blown away and up in the air like the UP movie cartoon.
It is undeniably beautiful and peaceful during the day, but I, myself couldn't sleep at night after we were visited by the Unexpected Visitors from the Woods. Even though the trip wasn't what I had envisioned, SO and I almost fell off the picnic table when MattLove wanted to stay for the entire time planned...and not leave early. It was all worth while just for that.
Thanks for stopping by today.

The weather appears to be really nice. I generally say that when it is not a sunny day:)
ReplyDeleteI love to camp, but have never camped on the beach. I love to hear the waves crashing against the beach. Looks beautiful there.
ReplyDeleteWe camped on the beach one night when our kids were little and loved every minute. Built a big fire..roasted marshmellows...the whole works.

I went camping almost the entire summer but it didn't necessarily mean that I love it. I just love to be with my Hubby and do things together... even if it means fighting all the time over simple things like taking care of the trash so that the raccoon will not bother me in the middle of the night. hahaha.
ReplyDeleteCamping out has never been my thing. I am like you. I hear all the wild sounds in the night. I like to stay inside.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing as nice as a trip to the beach to raise one's spirits! It looks like you all had awonderful time.
ReplyDeleteHappy Rednesday!

Nice pictures. I'm glad you and your family enjoyed yourselves. I can understand, though, that it would be hard to sleep with the little wood creatures and the ocean waves crashing near by. We're so used to our secure little homes with walls to protect us, that this would take some getting used to.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics. Glad you were able to go and enjoy.

Looks like a beautiful vacation spot! I hope the visitors were friendly.
ReplyDeleteI bet the waves DID sound like thunder. Beautiful photos!!
ReplyDeleteMy watery wednesday is now posted if you'd care to stop by when time allows.
I so enjoy the ocean. When I cruise, I enjoy having a balcony so I can sleep with the door open, listening to the sea. There is nothing like the rhythmic sound of the waves to make you sleep like a baby!!!
ReplyDeleteI doubt I would be able to sleep too.. ;)
ReplyDeleteIt looks so pretty and peaceful. I love to go to the beach..not so fond of getting in the water though. I'm happy to just sit on the side and listen to the waves!
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like the sound of waves to lull you to sleep! We haven't camped in several years, and I miss it. Sounds like you and your family had a great time communing with nature!
ReplyDeleteHappy REDnesday!
