There were overwhelming responses to the Harry Potter Bedroom decorating contest. It appears that wizard bedroom decorating is currently very hot and it isn't just for kids.
This is an update to the Harry Potter bedroom Contest post. The post had a few photo samples for the Harry Potter bedroom theme for kids. The purple bedroom idea was very attractive with the swirly walls, and glass tiles are great to recreate the glowing effects. And no one can deny that the blue was also a very attractive bedroom. If you missed that post please click on Harry Potter Bedroom Contest to see the three popular bedroom decorating ideas for kids.
Today, I am showing you a Harry Potter bedroom that is more of an adult version. The idea is cleaner lines and simpler design. The wall mural is the center focus.
If you are looking for impact on the walls, you can achieve the look with other wall murals, for some examples, check the Hogwart photos below.
Anyone with a darker taste should take a look at Sirus Bedroom and the Harry Potter Dorm Room examples. They are the more elaborated and filled with details and bedroom accessories.
Thanks for stopping by today.

You know, Amanda, I haven't even read the first Harry Potter book! I would want a bedroom with that theme, though. I wouldn't mind some exotic Indian theme.
ReplyDeleteI would love either, and most of all, I would love if I can change the themes often as I would get bored with one theme all the time.
DeleteHmm, I never thought of decorating in a Harry Potter style. Thanks for sharing your ideas and those pretty blues.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blue Monday, Amanda.
Thanks Sally. HP theme is a bit too male for me. I love the frilly pink and girlie shades, but I can appreciate HP blue being a powerful theme and I can dig it.
DeleteWow..that's really nice for Harry Potter lovers! What a phenomenal character!
ReplyDeleteThe unbelievably popular character and for a long time too, even today. smiles
DeleteIt looks dark but cute.. Happy blue Monday.
ReplyDeleteI think it does look a bit dark, and it's one of those with bold personalities, but it can also be very powerful depending on what accessories.
Deletewooooo... I like Harry Potter but I don't know about a HP bedroom. Looks creepy to me. hahaha.
ReplyDeleteThere are endless ways to create a room like this and some more. I think a wizard theme is very provocative and it could be quite charming with the right shades.
DeleteThat's pretty cool. My DH would love it, he's a huge HP fan :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower.
Happy Blue Monday!
If you don't mind sharing the same theme, you could make a wizard bedroom together.
DeleteWow..my boys love Harry Potter! I like the dark feel of this bedroom.
ReplyDeleteBoys are into dark colors aren't they? If Matt could have his room the way he wants, it would be like Sirus's room.
DeleteLooks great! I have always wanted to read the books but have not done it yet! Stoppin gin and following from MBM!

DeleteIt is fun to decorate the room themed wise. I love the mysterious effect.
Flattered you like my room so much! I've created another two Harry Potter room murals since this first one, and many other themes besides! Take a look http://www.sweetartmurals.co.uk

I have seen them. Unfortunately I have not had time to follow-up with the third post. Still hope to one of these days though. Thanks for the comment.
DeleteOMG I don't think I could sleep in that room. Mine is palm trees, greens and browns and golds. I need serenity and that's too scary for me. LOL.
ReplyDeleteHaha. No matter what theme I am surrounded by, I am afraid when my mind start thinking the worst.
DeleteOh my daughter would LOVE this post! (A little fanatic) Awesome pics!
ReplyDeleteI think you can put a little twist to make the room very girlie, or maybe not.
DeleteGreat ideas! I wish we lived in our own home so we could paint our rooms!
ReplyDeleteOh, maybe your landlords don't mind if you ask. It is just paint.
DeleteCool. I really want to decorate my room HP/The Hobbit. i have and Undesirable Number One poster, a poster of Harry on a hippogriff,(probably Buckbeak, but you can never tell.) i also have a copy of the death eater warning newspaper, three wands, and a Maruaders map. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteWhen are kids where younger they loved Harry Potter, this would have been cute for their rooms. Now they are grown and gone :-(
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up at Throwback Thursday!
